PBBN, B.Sc. Nursing

Introduction
Nagarik college of Health Sciences is an educational institution established in 2010. The college is one of the premier institutions dedicated to providing quality education in a fully –integrated, multicultural environment. The College occupies three buildings located in the heart of Kathmandu city -  koteshwor- 35 with excellent facilities. It is committed to achieving excellence in the academic development of students and professionals. The college offers Bachelor of Nursing affiliated by the Purbanchal University and recognized by Nepal Nursing Council.
Nagarik College Of Health Sciences came into existence in 2010 with the following vision and mission.

•To produce skilled, qualified, competent and ethical healthcare professionals who would constitute the future of the healthcare industry in the region.
• To continue to excel in research and development and to offer world class academic services to the Nepalese Society at large.

Goal:

The goal of this Institute is to produce motivated and task- oriented basic to high level health professionals who, as a part of the health team, would be able to provide quality health to people at all levels of health care services worldwide.

College Premises and Facilities:

The college has occupied three building with four floors in each at Koteshwor-35 , Kathmandu. The academic building has educational facilities with well equipped classrooms with projectors and other teaching learning support systems. It has the best laid demonstration rooms, computer , labs, practical classes, well organized library, hostels and other required facilities inside the campus premises.

The college has already started 2 years PBBN. ( Post Basic Bachelors of  Nursing) and 4 years B.Sc. Nursing affiliated to Purbanchal University. Altogether 80 students, 40 in each are enrolled in PBBN course and 20 students in B.Sc Nursing course. The college is fully geared up to start classes in three years of BMLT program and 4 years of Bachelors of Pharmacy program shortly in the near future. The college is intending to run and conduct as per the curriculum affiliated to  Purbanchal University.

Faculty
The college has eminently qualified and richly experienced faculties with several members holding high Nursing degrees from National and International Universities. Syllabi and faculty credentials are approved by the concerned Institution / Universities ( Purbanchal University), Nepal. Facilities are available during all working hours for individual consultations and continuous interaction with professionals/specialists and confirmed periodic seminars/ workshops/presentations.

Post Basic Bachelor in Nursing (PBBN)
This is a 2 years degree course affiliated to Purbanchal University and recognized by Nepal Nursing Council.

Objectives
The objectives of the PBBN program are to produce middle level Nursing personal who are capable of making independent judgment.
PBBN is a broad based education aimed to build up the skill and competencies acquired at the PCL Nursing Level. The course is indented to enable the graduates to assume responsibility as professional competent nurses midwives. Making independent decision in nursing situations, it protects the rights and facilitates the individuals and groups in pursuit of health function in the Hospital, community Nursing services and conduct research studies in the areas of Nursing practices. They are also expected to assume the role of teacher, supervisor and manager in clinical/public health settings.

Intake: 40 students per year

Eligibity:
1. Should hold a PCL Nursing from any recognized University
2. Should be a registered nurse
3. Should have at least two years working experience related to nursing from any relevant Health Institute.

Course of Study
Candidates shall study the following subjects in the I,II III and IV year of the Bachelors of  Nursing (B.Sc Nursing).
